When the hardware conflicts with software

While Level 2 is all but complete, what does a developer do when their confusticated won't let them run and jump? Certainly not "design a game where you wouldn't ever have to jump left"! Also maybe if I could get it so In Too Deep CONTINUES after restarting, rather than restarting itself. Dunno how to do that.
