Too slow to capture, too fast to hit

Mostly I just followed the lesson to the letter As you can see, I can't keep the camera as zoomed in during gameplay, but it makes the cutscene less threatening. Also, the solid tilemap throughout looks amateurish, hopefully there's a way to make the boss room the entire screen. What the actual firetruck was going on with my arrows?
