Being an amateur game enthusiast

This week was back to the grind of career stuff, but really it was the true start of 2024 as a follower of the industry. Firstly, this is when everyone drafted their Fantasy Critic Draft. Since I manage someone elses, that was made weeks ago, but having different leagues to follow throughout the year shows different prioritizations and preferences from different people, as well as map out what kind of year in gaming this will be. 2nd, games are actually releasing. There's a much longer rant here, and since it's not like I'm buying the game myself I can't holler too much from my high horse, but no sooner does Ubisoft published a highly acclaimed SINGLE PLAYER metroidvania... than people take out their anger from a controversial statement on the wrong game. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is a game that can actually be owned, unlike Skull and Bones, and if people don't support when good things happen they don't get to complain when bad things happen.

Now, as I listen to a bunch of people talk about Xbox's solid looking year, I wonder when they'll realize it's far from something to make PlayStation have to panic that their partnered games can't get them through a low year (and of course, all Nintendo has to do is launch Switch 2 with a new 3D Mario platformer and boom).
